Bad manners...it's one of those things that really pisses me off! So much so that it'll put me in a bad mood for the day...
Growing up, good manners were drilled into me on a daily basis, so 'please' and 'thank you' became an automatic response to things. It seriously does not cost a thing, and it only takes a second to do. Not using good manners, in my opinion, is just downright ignorant!
It's also something I have to deal with on a daily basis. Working where I do, with the people I work with, and the customers I face every day, bad manners is a constant occurance. I'm sick to death of being grunted at when someone wants something. Does it really take that much effort to form a full bloody sentence, ending in 'please' or 'thank you'?!?!?!? Grrrrr!!!
My boss is just as bad! There was a whole debacle today over my roster. As in..I wasn't on it! Now, I've been there over 3 weeks now..it's safe to say they know I'm there! My fuckwit of a boss just forgot about me!
I was fully prepared to let it slide, let it go...after all, we're all human and all make mistakes. So, despite bitching with my co-workers all day about it (somehow they all knew about it without me telling them...slow news week??), I really wasn't all that bothered by it!
I went into work today (after finally being told my hours), fully expecting, and rightly so, in my opinion, an apology and an explanation.
Instead, I got NOTHING! It wasn't even mentioned! I was (and still am) absolutely disgusted. So I have decided my boss is nothing but an ignorant fuckwit and have no time for her.
Rant over!

I also think manners are of paramount importance.
However, I am guilty not necessarily being rude to the Supervalu staff close to my house - but more despondent.
Often when I go in I am wrecked from work or (on Sundays) hungover to hell. So they are trying their best to serve the zombie before them and I'm off in my own little world. I don't mean to be rude but I am sure that is how it comes across.
I wish I could be left off the roster for a week...maybe longer.
@Lottie - well..I get that too, but it's not half as irksome as downright rudeness and lack of manners! Tiredness is recognisable and understandable like!
@darren - lol no..guessing yer shifts isn't much fun!
I was the same when I worked in customer service on the phone, hated people who'd scream and rant at you down the phone over something they did but didn't want to admit they were in the wrong.
@ Mary...well, the way it is...you give what you get! Much as it kills me to be 'impolite' or whatever, I'm not gonna be all sweetness and light (which we all know I am..LOL) just to be grunted at!
